Game Notes:
In the Blacks first game of the day against the 2009 National Champion Yarmouth Red Knights the team exacted some revenge from an opening game loss in last years opening round with a 6 - 1 win... Player of the game from the Blacks was Mike Bennett who went 3 for 3 with multiple RBI and made a highlight reel diving stab up the middle to rob a Knight of a hit and kill a rally...

The Greys opened their championship run against the Delta Stars and quickly jumped out to a 2 - 0 lead only to give up a 5 runs in the 4th to trail 5 - 2... The Grey 49ers battled back with 3 runs in the bottom half of the 6th to tie the score... Paul Thompson held the Stars off the scoresheet in the 7th, but unfortunately the Greys couldn't bring a run across to win the game... As Vic Rauter of TSN always says 'Make the Final' 5 - 5...

The Black 49ers took on the Tri City Red Hawks in their second game of the day and suffered a 10 - 9 loss at the hands of the host... The Blacks were up 6 - 0 when the wheels fell off the bus and found themselves trailing 7 - 6... The 49ers showed some stink when they tied the score, but unfortunately errors cost the team in the bottom half as the Hawks scored 3 runs to take a 10 - 7 lead going into the top of the 7th... The Black 49ers made a valiant comeback and brought in 2 runs but couldn't get the tying run across, thus the 10 - 9 loss...

The Blacks and Greys continue the quest for the Championship at 9:00 on Saturday morning...

Plenty of seats available for tomorrows games...
